Oxon Hill Manor Overview

Take a journey back in time as you make your way down the winding driveway and open lawns to OXON HILL MANOR. Admire the spectacular views of the Potomac River alongside flocks of wild turkeys that roam freely around the property. In 1927, the home was purchased by Benjamin Sumner Welles, the U.S. Undersecretary of State, whose lavish parties played host to both foreign dignitaries and domestic statesmen. History reveals that the estate hosted many prominent figures including President Franklin D. Roosevelt and possibly Sir Winston Churchill. The stately, 49-room, Neo-Georgian estate is a perfect canvas for your next event. Come inside and admire the spacious grand foyer with black and white marble floors. Enjoy a photo opportunity in the drawing-room or host a dinner with the large Louis XV fireplace as your event’s centerpiece. Relax on the terrace and enjoy the beauty of the magnificent formal English gardens and reflecting pool. Dance the night away with over 200 of your guests on the tented patio. Our expert and courteous staff are on hand to accommodate your requests.

Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $2,450 to $6,650for ceremony and reception depending on whether the bride and groom are residents of Prince George’s or Montgomery Counties and includes 4 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. For residents of Prince George's or Montgomery Counties, a wedding in the Manor ranges from $1,700 to $3,500. For nonresidents, a wedding in the Mansion ranges from $2,100 to $4,400. The fee to rent the Patio or House for a wedding ceremony is $200. Additional hours can be arranged for a fee. A refundable security deposit of $750 is required.
