The Kalamazoo Nature Center provides a beautiful natural setting for your special day. Whether you wish for a rustic Barn wedding or a ceremony surrounded by lush gardens, The Kalamazoo Nature Center has it all. The Kalamazoo Nature Center was designed by eminent 20th Century architect Alden B. Dow and is located on 1,100 acres of rolling hills with a variety of habitats including mature beech-maple forests, wetlands and prairies -- all within a short walk from the event spaces. The Timber Framed Barn is an excellent example of an English Bank Barn-style building, remodeled to include heated, year-round event spaces on the Lower Level, a catering kitchen, a portico and covered porch. The exposed wooden timbers remain as the highlight of the building -- perfect for your wedding photos. The Hummingbird/Butterfly Garden -- designed to nurture and support butterflies and hummingbirds -- provides an enchanting location for celebrations. The Garden steps down into the hillside via a brick pathway and is surrounded by hedges and shrubs, creating an intimate enclosure for the perfect celebration underneath the stars.
