Located at the “Oasis on the Plains” in Colby, Kansas, Prairie Museum of Art and History is indeed an oasis for the couple looking for a genuinely unique wedding experience! Featuring 24-acres of space, it’s the perfect backdrop for either an intimate gathering or an extravagant affair. Choose from the Garvey Educational Room that can host up to 75 guests, or consider exchanging your vows in the Lone Star Chapel that’s surrounded by beautiful stained glass windows and an abundance of historic charm. For weddings of a larger size, consider hosting the festivities in the rustic chic Cooper Barn nicknamed the 8th Wonder of Kansas Architecture with space available for parties up to 1,000 people! With such a variety of spaces available and the creative flexibility for you to bring your wedding dreams to life, Prairie Museum of Art and History is the perfect unique destination for any wedding!

Venue Notes

The rental fee is $800 for a reception and includes 7 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. The set up fee for a ceremony is included or $250 with reception rental, depending on space used, or ranges from $250 to $500 for a ceremony only wedding. A refundable security deposit of $200 is required.
