Holden Arboretum Overview

Unfortunately, Holden Forests and Gardens is divesting the Lantern Court Estate and it is no longer available for rental. Please see below for information on having your wedding at the Holden Arboretum's main campus. Imagine saying ‘I do’ with the soft and subtle scent of flowers in the breeze. The lush lawns and fragrant gardens offer a romantic, floral setting to host a magical wedding ceremony or reception. Nestled in Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga Counties, the Holden Arboretum is one of the largest arboreta in the US, with over 3600 acres devoted to its collections. Whether you are looking to hold an intimate garden ceremony or a 20's gatspy-esque inspired outdoor reception, the Holden Arboretum features the romantic and natural setting you always dreamed of for your wedding day and provides ample space to comfortably accommodate small to large guest lists.

Venue Notes

Daytime Ceremony Only: We offer a ceremony only option at our Butterfly Garden or Rhododendron Garden. An outdoor ceremony only can be scheduled at 10:30am or 1 pm Tuesday-Saturday, or at 1pm on Sunday. The gardens can accommodate up to 80 guests for $1,400, or up to 120 guests for $1,900. Ceremony only rental includes a two hour rental, an indoor rain location, 45 minute rehearsal, ceremony chairs, time for photos on the grounds, guest parking and admission- as well as staff to assist in the coordination of the ceremony. The most we are able to accommodate is 120. For weddings in the rhododendron garden, a golf cart (driven by our staff) is recommended as a package add on for $300 in order to help elderly or disabled guests get to the ceremony site as it is a .25 mile walk from the visitors center. Evening Reception and Ceremony: Receptions at the Holden Arboretum are held after the arboretum closes to the public and can start as early as 6pm and end as late as 11:00 pm. Our facility rental fees for evening receptions are based on the number of guest attending. Fee includes use of the grounds, thunderstorm safety location, and tables. Tents are available for rent through our exclusive vendor, Aable Rents. Please contact Krystal at krystal@aablerents.com. Chairs for the reception can be rented through Aable or through the caterer. The fee for an evening reception is based on guest count and includes the space from 6pm until 11:00 pm, ability for your guests to enjoy the gardens, indoor thunderstorm safety location, and on-site staff to ensure everything runs smoothly throughout the evening. The fee for up to 80 guests is $2,000 and for 80 to 120 guests is $3,000. To add on a ceremony for up to 120 guests there is an additional fee of $1,000. This fee includes an indoor rain location, 45 minute rehearsal, ceremony chairs, time for photos on the grounds, and staff to coordinate the ceremony. 120 guests is our recommended maximum for wedding receptions.
