The Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park Overview

Welcome to the Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park, a unique museum complex showcasing the diverse history of the Houston region and your new life as husband and wife! Located on 10 gorgeous acres of verdant parklands, the estate flaunts 10 potential wedding facilities, each as beautiful as the last. For small, intimate parties, the elegant simplicity of the St. John Church may be the perfect ceremony setting to exchange vows. Built in 1891, the one room Gothic Revival Style church exudes authentic sincerity with its high arched windows, coved ceiling, and Germanic rounded corners. A slightly more festive venue, the Tea Room in the Long Row Building dazzles with its hardwood floors and vintage photographs to immerse any wedding in old-time splendor. Likewise, the Museum Gallery exhibition space provides ample and memorable entertainment for wedding guests as they tour the historic artifacts. Pose for pictures in front of a 1911 Ford Model T or recreated, classic storefront while enjoying the tranquil atmosphere of the low lights and neutral color scheme. Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $400 to $2,500 for a reception and includes 4 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. The set up fee for a ceremony is $1,500 A refundable security deposit of $500 to $1,500 is required. In order to have a reception they must have their ceremony in the 1891 St. John Church. Please inquire with the event coordinator for additional information.
