Headwaters Park, Geauga Park District Overview

For a wedding surrounded by the stunning and picturesque beauty of nature, Headwaters Park is the perfect venue. Located in the Claridon and Huntsburg townships, Headwaters Park is a gorgeous, serene oasis ideal to invite your friends and family to in celebration of your nuptials. Prior to 1932, the east branch of the Cuyahoga River meandered through a lush and beautiful ravine. Picnickers enjoyed many summer afternoons along its banks; vacationers escaped to cottages nestled around adjacent Crystal Lake and along the river's edge. When the City of Akron began purchasing land in Geauga County in 1932, a dam was built on the land and a reservoir created to serve the area. This peaceful stillness of the reservoir creates a magnificent backdrop for your special day—especially with the history and charm of the land and natural landscape. Crystal Lake Shelter, named for the area enjoyed by picnickers of a bygone era, provides an open shelter that is perfect for a casual and fun yet elegant wedding celebration. You and your guests will be able to celebrate your special day under the clear, blue sky and amid the breezy air and fluttering leaves at Headwaters Park.

Venue Notes

The rental fee is $100 for a ceremony and reception and includes 17 hours of rental time excluding set up and clean up time. The fee for a ceremony only wedding is $100. Please note, rental fees (not including utility fees) are waived for county residents; inquire with venue for details. Special use permit is required for bringing in rental items (i.e. chairs).
