Principal Park is a unique and different space to host your wedding celebration. For a relaxed and fun wedding atmosphere, Principal Park is truly the perfect place. Sitting at the confluence of the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers, Principal Park offers spectacular views of the Iowa State Capitol and downtown Des Moines—views that will increase the beauty and magnificence of your wedding. Imagine saying your “I Dos” and sharing your first kiss a married couple on the pitching mound or home plate with your loved ones in the stands. With spaces both outdoors and indoors, the park also offers some options for your celebration. There are many open spaces that will allow you and your guests to celebrate your nuptials underneath the clear, blue Iowa sky. Imagine sipping cocktails and eating hors d'oeuvres surrounded by the historic park as the sun shines its golden rays on you and all your loved ones. The Cub Club Restaurant offers an elegant indoor space for an evening reception. The huge, expansive windows display the park and the starry sky and create a truly unforgettable atmosphere for your celebration.

Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $750 to $850 for a reception. The fee for a ceremony ranges from $600 to $800. A deposit of 25% is required. There is a food and beverage minimum applied to the restaurant space only. Client can bring in their own specialty treats and cake. Please inquire with venue for pricing and details for other bar packages.

- Alcohol must be provided by venue- All food and beverage handled by venue- Amplified music OK indoors and outdoors- Catering provided by venue- Food & beverage minimum- Music end time outdoors 11:00PM- Music must end by midnight- No rice, birdseed, confetti, etc.- Smoking outside only- Venue must approve all decorations
