Overlooking the Hudson River and scenic Catskill mountains, Southwood Estate boasts 86 acres of gorgeous gardens, forests, and rolling meadows perfect for an unforgettable outdoor wedding. The timeless pastoral beauty of this stunning estate has been preserved for nearly three centuries, originally built and maintained by the Livingston family until it was finally passed onto the Perry family almost 50 years ago. Offering a private wooded oasis for the weekend of your big day, you and your guests can revel in a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The stunning property provides a significant setting that can be home to many different kinds of weddings, ranging from an elegant historic manor wedding to an outdoor bohemian dream! Imagine exchanging your vows on the lush green fields overlooking a thicket of mature trees and foliage, allowing you to say your “I do’s” amid the chirps of local birds and the song of wind breezing through the trees. Enjoy cocktails on the lawn sheltered by a beautiful historic wedding-cake mansion.Venue Notes
The site fee is $7,500 for event day. Southwood offers only weekend events that utilize accommodations in the three house rentals - Mansion, Cottage and Gate House. The property sleeps up to 23 guests across the three houses - historic mansion (10), wood-panelled one-story cottage (5-7) and historic Gate House (5). Two-night minimum applies to accommodations (not included in the rental fee). Extra nights can be added in any of the houses. A rehearsal dinner or Sunday brunch for more than 20 guests can be held on the property for an extra charge. Late checkout is also available. A wedding planner is required. The venue is available for wedding bookings from late May through mid-October. Clients are responsible for all catering, decor, restroom trailers, event insurance, tent (including dance floor), service rentals, additional lighting and cleanup etc. Venue provides ample parking, a house manager and on-site caretakers along wth tiki and solar lighting along drive and ravine front of mansion.Amenities And Requirements
