The Hotel Ballast is home of the largest riverfront event space in downtown Wilmington. With a spectacular view of the Cape Fear River and the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, the Hotel Ballast Riverview Terrace offers a unique outdoor ceremony and reception setting that features a built in custom bar. Or say "I Do," in an intimate and private candlelit ceremony in the Cape Fear Ballroom. The newly renovated ballroom includes rich carpet, platinum wall sconces, modern chandeliers and an adjacent pre-function area. Or enjoy the best of both worlds in a space that brings the beauty of the outdoors inside - The Grand Ballroom. The Southern Contemporary feel of the Grand Ballroom is enhanced by silk draperies, stylish light fixtures, and stunning floor to ceiling windows that overlook the Cape Fear River. Whatever you envision for your special day, the onsite Wedding Coordinator will assist you with every detail so your wedding dreams come true.

Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $250 to $2,000 for a reception and includes 6 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. There is also a food and beverage minimum applied to all events. The set up fee for a ceremony ranges from $1,000 to $2,000 with reception rental or $1,500 to $2,500 for a ceremony only wedding.
