Verulam Farms Overview

Verulam is located on 500 pristine acres in the heart of Virginia wine country overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. Choose from the rustic charm of the nearly 100-year-old barn overlooking Friesian foals at play or the classic elegance of a Virginia Estate amid Gillett gardens, Jeffersonian architecture, and Blue Ridge Mountain views. You can hold your wedding at the historic Verulam house, the Verulam barn, or combined use of the entire 9-acre house and barn site. A rustic barn wedding comes alive at The Cider Barn and adjoining paddock, a uniquely rustic site that stands in stark comparison to the formal areas of the main house grounds. Edgy yet traditional, this venue exudes rustic elegance. Virginia estate weddings make use of the more formal grounds. The Border Garden features a gorgeous centerpiece—a stone gazebo with ironwork covered by pink climbing roses. The garden “room” is enclosed by boxwoods as background to the gazebo and holly trees draped with blue wisteria. The Croquet Court is bounded by six oak trees over 80 years old. The trees are illuminated such that their canopies create a natural ceiling above your event. The pond is planted with Louisiana iris, ornamental cherry trees, oriental azalea, and ornamental grasses. Terraces are dominated by pink azaleas and Hydrangeas. Rental of this area includes access to the sunken Gillette shrub Garden and connecting brick walks. Whatever venue you choose, Verulam provides a setting that you and your guests will talk about for years.

Venue Notes

The rental fee ranges from $6,500 to $32,000 for ceremony and reception depending on the wedding date and includes 6 hours of event time excluding set up and clean up time. A refundable security deposit of $1,000 is required. Please inquire with venue wedding coordinator for more details.
